    Margin of Error

Margin of error is the range within which the true population value likely falls, given the sample size and confidence level.

Reported as ± a percentage (e.g., ±5%). A poll showing 50% support with ±3% margin at 95% confidence means the true value is likely between 47% and 53%. Margin of error decreases as sample size increases, but with diminishing returns.
